The Embassy continues to closely monitor the evolving situation in Japan.

For the time being, non-essential travel to Japan may be avoided.

Indian nationals from Tokyo and areas closer to the exclusion zone declared by the Government of Japan may consider moving to safer areas as a precaution.

The Helplines (00-81-3-32622391 to 97) of the Embassy of India in Tokyo are functional 24×7.  You can call the Helpline numbers for information and assistance for  voluntary departures to India, if required.

Air India has introduced daily flights with enhanced seat capacity to Japan, to assist those who wish to travel back. Air India is operating an additional flight on Saturday, 19 March and Sunday, 20 March.  You may contact Air India at  03-3214-1981 /  03-5157-5593 /       03-3508-0261 /      03-3508-0263 during office hours for booking of tickets. Air India’s Narita Airport office can also be contacted at     04-7634 8261.
